Magic Suitcase from Nightbringer is a card database with loads of features, including a search feature that can look for any text in a card (useful for finding all cards that e.g. give all white creatures +1/+1, or create tokens - whatever!).

Magic Suitcase can calculate the mana curve on your deck, work out the probability of drawing a certain combo within any number of turns, check for deck legality for tournaments, and generally do whatever you want it to

At the moment, the first release of Magic Suitcase is only useful for card sets up to Torment, but release 2, which will include Judgement is expected by September. You can be sure we'll be linking to the download site as soon as it's ready, but in the meantime, check it out.

INSTALLATION

NOTES ABOUT DOWNLOADING:
Always make sure that your anti-virus software is up-to-date, and that you scan any files you have downloaded for viruses before opening them. We cannot be held responsible for any problems with your computer if you ignore this simple piece of advice.


1. DOWNLOADING MAGIC SUITCASE.

Once the downloads have finished, Create a temporary directory on your Hard Drive (e.g C:/temporary), and move the Magic Suitcase full install file (ms70full.zip), the Odyssey update file (Odyssey_Update.zip), the Apocalypse update file (Apocalypse_Update.zip) and the Torment update file (Torment_Update.zip) that you have just downloaded to the temporary directory.

2. INSTALLING WINZIP

(If you already have WinZip, you can skip directly to Section 3) Follow the instructions at the download site for downloading WinZip.

Once the download is finished, run the file winzip81.exe. The WinZip 8.1 Setup program will run. Follow the instructions you're given. PLEASE READ THE LICENCE AGREEMENT - WinZip is provided on a for-trial basis only. If you intend to keep using it after the trial period expires, you will need to register your copy.


3. INSTALLING MAGIC SUITCASE.

Run WInZIp and open the file ms70full.zip that you have just downloaded.

Press the "Extract" icon in WinZip, and use the "Folders/Drives" box to go to the temporary directory you created earlier (e.g. C:/temporary). Press the "Extract" button, and WinZip will automatically create the Magic Suitcase files for you.

Go to the temporary directory you created (e.g. C:/temporary) and run the program Setup.exe. The Magic Suitcase 7.0 program will run. Follow the instructions you're given.

NOTE! ONCE YOU HAVE INSTALLED MAGIC SUITCASE YOU WILL BE ASKED TO RE-START YOUR COMPUTER. IF YOU ARE NOT ASKED TO RESTART YOUR COMPUTER, PLEASE DO SO ANYWAY - IT IS INADVISABLE TO UPDATE THE DATABASE UNLESS MAGIC SUITCASE HAS PROPERLY INSTALLED BY RESTARTING YOUR COMPUETR.


4. UPDATING THE MAGIC SUITCASE DATABASE.

Starting with the file called Odyssey_Update.zip, open the file with WinZip. Press the "Extract" icon in WinZip, and use the "Folders/Drives" box to go to the temporary directory you created earlier (e.g. C:/temporary). Press the "Extract" button, and WinZip will automaticallycreate the database files for you. In the temporary directory, open the file called "read.me" with Notepad, Wordpad or Word - you will find instructions for updating your Magic Suitcase database.

Repeat the process in "4. UPDATING THE MAGIC SUITCASE DATABASE" for the files called Apocalypse_Update.zip and Torment_Update.zip. You may be asked if you wish to over-write some files in the temporary directory - Press the "Yes to All" button each time.

Finally, run Magic Suitcase and check that you have all of the card-sets in your database. If you do, you may now delete the temporary directory that you created earlier (e.g. C:/temporary) - you no longer need it.

YOU HAVE NOW SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED AND UPDATED MAGIC SUITCASE!
