Prepare to faint with the amount of bullshit I just wroteLast night after work I got kinda busy and tired. I was at work at 5pm wednesday for a safety meeting. We got that done and finished up the sort rather quickly. Got all the package cars washed, and cleared the floor of excess water. The night before, a few of us we about ready to go out after work to play some basketball. But it was kinda late, and we screwed it over talking out in the parking lot for about 10 to 15 minutes. So we agreed to go out the following night (wednesday night). So last night being wednesday night, we went out to play basketball. It helped that we got out of work early. I called up Dan and Terry and invited them to come play too. Well three guys from work and I ended up playing way to many games with a bunch of other guys. Terry and Dan were to sub in, but they wondered off somewhere, and then I guess went hope. When I got back home, they said they stayed for about 45minutes. I was there from 9pm until 10:45. First set of games we played were 5on5 full court. I ended up being the small forward. It was the three guys from work, Mark (tall, can dunk it), John (pretty big guy, same height as me), Chris Morris (pretty good, hot and cold streaks shotting), me, and some other random guy (he was another hot/cold shooter, drained a bunch of three's in later games). So our team whipped up on the first bunch of guys we played. They didnt have anyone that could play with Mark, he would just get in down low and drop the ball off, and would get nearly ever rebound. So the next game, half the other team left, and two other guys showed up, so we just combined those two groups. Of the two new guys, one was Mark's height, so Mark wasnt able to dominate the boards so easily, he had to fight his way inside now. Well this new guy took out my cuts into the lane now, since he could block my shots, and any rebounds I got inside, I had to kick out because he was nearly a six inchs taller than me. No biggy, that is when Chris and the other guy got hot from outside. I would get the ball down low if their center was still running the court. John had some good moves inside also, but Mark was pretty quiet this whole game, which wasnt good since it was to 21 and we were down 11-6. But that was before all our three's (two pointers). We ended up winning 21-18. We played another with the same teams, went pretty close to start, then we pulled away quickly. Those orginal guys left. And it was down to the two newcomers and our group (our random guy left also). So the six of us played a few games of 3on3 half court. These went better than expected. The two tall guys were on opposite teams, the four of us switched teams after every game. I was able to do alot better in this situation, since I didnt really have to worry about them playing zone defence like it was in 5on5. So I could beat my man and have an easy layup or jump shot. Without the inside defender most of the time, passing lanes were open up, and I felt as if I was playing down in Florida with my dad. After a bunch of games (we kept saying one more, one more, but that started in the 5on5 games) we finally called it quits. Both Chris and John (smokers) were pretty beat. Mark wasnt to bad, either was I. I figured I would really feel it in the morning. When I got home, I asked where Terry and Dan were, they said home. I felt kinda bad for inviting them, they show up, and they didnt get to play. All the gyms were full too. So they could just shot around. I guess they just wondered around the building (volleyball games in some of the middle rooms, and basketball games on the two end rooms (4 full courts each, all full). Anyway. I got back home, and took a shower. I was pretty much soaked. Stupid me for wearing jeans to play basketball. After the shower, I was full of energy, I ended up cleaning my room pretty good. Putting everything away and vacuumed my room. Then took a bunch of pictures, will end up posting them on some part of this page. That way I can show the world my clean room, instead of what it has been for the past three weeks, one big mess, the worst it has been since I moved up here. I read a chapter in the Lord of the Rings book (got book one finished now, will start on book to tonight). In the morning, I woke up refreshed. I was up moving around right after my alarm went off. No rolling around wishing I had more time to sleep. I wasnt or havnt been tired at all today. I figured I would be for all the running around I did last night. That is my rant. Feels good to actually write something again, rather than papers for school. Nice to get back into the Lord of the Rings book, although it will only last a week or to until the next round of stuff is due again, then finals. Argh... |
