Code Red Worm Starts tonight at 8pm
Well Sunday afternoon, I didnt have that cookout at Shanna's place like was planned. Actually I think I posted it was cancelled on Sunday's post. Ohh well. It rained on Sunday. We needed the rain alot. Just I was looking forward to the cookout, which was really Shanna's moms birthday cookout. Her mom made sure to tell me not to give her a gift. It would be free food and that was it. She is like that, and if I did bring a gift, I would have been kicked out and never allowed over again.

Jamie came over Sunday, we went down to the valleymall in Hagerstown. He got a PlayStation 2 there. Tryed to sell back his playstation, but he forgot to bring a controller with it. (He did sell it for $30 to babagges last night)

Well when we got back to my place. I kinda died. I got really tried, layed down in the basement taking a nap, until everyone made to much noise. Then I headed up to my room and went to sleep. Keep in mind this was like 6pm. I didnt wake up until 8. Then I watched the Simpsons and whatever NBC had on Fear Factor and Spy TV. Both stupid shows. Then Shanna called. We were on the phone for a long time. I finally came back downstairs and noticed Jamie was still here. He came up when Southpark started. Which was after the new Jackass that featured the GumBall 3000. That was a good. I wish I was there. Anyway I was watching that while talking with Shanna. Jamie comes up. I say goodbye and sorry that I wasnt down there with him. Then go back to talking with Shanna. After I had to go check my email that she sent me. We eventually got off whenever her sleeping stuff kicked in.

Monday: It was really wet outside. And we didnt start working until 10am for TruCut. I didnt even mow any grass. Tim and I worked on mulch the whole time. I had to leave to get ready for UPS, and we still were not done. He finished out the rest of the thrid truck load of mulch we had, and told me today that the lady still wants more put down, doesnt care how much it costs, just wants more. Umm ok... UPS wasnt to bad. I was doing Irregs again. Which means I am really up in the pickoff the whole night. I didnt talk to Shitty again today. I told myself, I can make it until next friday before I punch him.

BUT I DID GET MY COMPUTER MONDAY!!! It came just like it was. Empty. Nothing on it. No OS, no drivers, no nothing. At least they kept their promise. Just had Ryan search the web for thos drivers. He has it working today.

Countdown of days left at UPS. 9. after tonight, 8. Countdown of days left to mow. 8. Those are only Monday-Friday jobs. I dont work weekends.

Today: Tim and I mowed the whole day. Dont know what Sease was doing. I guess getting ready for tomorrow. He is heading down to Smith Mountian Lake in VA to go boating with his parents. More on that maybe tomorrow. Off to work at UPS. I got plans after work to watch Planet of the Apes, so I will let you know what I think of it.

Stuff that end scares me...

Powell Sneaks Out for Secret Joyride - Hahah sounds like what I want to do. nice to see our big shot is taking my spot in the driver's seat.

Two Die as 'Ghost' Sparks Stampede - "The report did not say if any of the girls actually saw a ghost." Umm Yea.. But the ghost was actually avaible for comment. His name is Mark Vodie. And told me, "I didnt wail and what kind of idiot girls are these, I am not a woman." But Mark declined to comment on the question on if he was gay or not.

Heinz Unveils Purple Ketchup in Bid for Kids - Great. I got red to look like blood, green to look like mucus, and purple now? For what? Look like I have some kind of STD? Of all the colors, they pick purple? Blue would be so much better, or ornage. Funky Purple just doesnt cut it. So far I have yet to have any green ketchup, at least to my knowledge. Unless Terry and Shanna put some in during our cookout last weekend. But I didnt see any. I think they were to busy fighting over the green ketchup situation that happened a while ago. Lets just say Terry had some unwanted ketchup that Shanna just happened to play a part in giving to him.

Sunday, July 29, 2001 12:57 PM - Kiss of the Dragon - Shanky
I just shit my pants and I feel great!
Well yesterday I didnt do that much. I played SubSpace like the whole time. Then Jamie called. I talked with him for about five minutes. And my dad needed me to help him move the $10 pool table we just got into the basement. Then I called Jamie back. We tried to talk. But I about fell asleep, so I told him to stop by DairyQueen to talk with Ryan, then stop by my house. He did. When he got here, I was asleep, so he had to wake me up. Umm. Terry called. Tried to tell me that the noise in the background was the ceiling fan. So he puts the phone up to the ceiling fan, the next thing I hear is a bunch of static... Um. Ok. That sounds just like a ceiling fan, ya....... So I hang the phone up. And it rings like a second later. So I pick it up and say that sounded real good or something like that. Well it wasnt Terry like I expected. It was Shanna, and she was like uh? what is going on.... OPPS!! So I explained the situation to her. And she was going to come over. I guess a few minutes after we hung up, Terry calls back. And tells me he is coming over now. Which works out good. Everyone comes here. So I dont have to move much. Well when Terry gets here, he explains the situation to me with the ceiling fan. He said when he put the phone up to it, the cat walked by and rubbed against his leg. Well he didnt expect that at all, so it scared him, the phone goes up along with his hand/arm into the ceiling fan. So I guess that caused the static.

Well when Shanna got here, everyone was up in my sisters room watching Jamie play the Playstation. He brought his games over so Ryan could copy them. But Jamie was playing his baseball game which he has had for over a year now. And has never scored a run in. The best he did was 1-0 loss in the 9th inning. And like 19 stikeouts. He has never had more than a single in the game. All he knows how to do is pitch. Well when he was playing here, he got a single, a double, and a TRIPLE! No homerun, I dont think. And he scores some runs. And he actually lead the game for a while, then came back. And he WON! a game. First time for alot of things. Well Shanna was downstairs talking to my parents, about who knows. So we went down. At least Terry and I did. They were watching Big Brother 2, and I was refusing too. So I was eating my Frosted Animal crackers while reading the comics. Shanna saw I was bored and gave me some nice big hug, really suprised me. It was much more than I expected, I really enjoyed it. Well then we looked for something to do. I just happened to have the paper infront of me. And the movie listings were right there. So I looked and was like, WTF! so I read them off. It was Planet of the Apes, Planet of the Apes, American Sweethearts, American Sweethearts, Jurassic Park 3, Jurassic Park 3. I was like umm. That all they going to do? Have the movies each doubled? Well I read the rest of the list, they were all singles. When I got down to Kiss of the Dragon, they were like what is that. I said it was the Jet Li movie. The previews that pool ball scene with him kicking it up, kicking it while in the air, and nailing the guy right in the head. I figured that was the best scene, since they always show them in the previews. Well it wasnt! But I will get to that. So we have our pick to do something tonight, watch a movie. We asked Jamie and Ryan if they wanted to come. Jamie was going bowling with some of his other friends, and Ryan was going to come, but then backed out of it later. So all three of us end up driving, that way we can all head directly home after the movie with out having to drop each other off. Plus Shanna and Terry's cars were already up here. Terry offered to drop me off, but I thought it would be easier to just drive myself and not worry about driving all the way back to my house then going to his. Plus I wanted to drive my car. It has its window tint on darker now, I wanted to drive at night. Always fun. No one can see in. :) Well I found a problem with my car while on the way there. I was pushing the brake in, well when I look in the rear view mirror, I can see the center brake light glowing red. Well it wasnt. I saw some white light off to the side underneath the rear deck of my car. Hmm.. So I signalled Terry to pull over, I was flashing my high beams to get his attention. Then turing my turn signal on. He said he was flashing Shanna too, she was up front. Well Terry pulls over into some elementy school's parking lot like I wanted him too. Shanna just kept on going. Dont know what she was expecting us to do. Maybe that thing she did that one night at Denny's when she flashed me, I pull over, she just drives by. Anyway. I yell at Terry to look at my center brake light. He says he doesnt see it. Hehehe I stuck my head out the sunroof to talk to him, because I cant put my windows down yet, it will mess up the tint from setting. OH!! EHHEHEEH I was driving with my head out the sunroof earlier...that was FUN! Going about 70mph tring to drive with my face getting hit with air. It was a great feeling. I was turning the car and braking, and accelerating too! The turning was hard and very wierd.. But all fun.. Back to my brake light thing. So I get out of the car and tell Terry to push my brake. I wanted to see what it looked like from the outside and what you could see of the white light from the outside also. Well you couldnt see anything from the outside. Not even the white light. EHEH When they put my window tint back on, they must have forgot to replace the light bulb into the rear brake light module. Well it looks cool only having the two brake lights down where the turn signals and stuff are. I am a sitting(err moving) target now for a cop to pull me over. Because of a missing brake light. Then I will have them bitch about my tint, and I will have to take it off again. Not good. Anyway. I had good luck, plus I tried not to use my brake as much as possible. We got down there. Explained the situation to Shanna on why we pulled over. So we got our tickets and headed to the movie. I guess about six other people were in the place when we got there. Maybe about 20 people total, counting us, saw the movie.

Well the movie was good. It was better than I expected. I have no idea what the plot was. ohh Terry, the french cars do have the steering wheels on the left side. But the movie was pretty much Jet Li kicking the shit out of everyone. I wont ruin the movie. But there is a seen at the end that is really funny. Jet Li fighting a bunch of black belts. When you see it, you know what I mean. I love the part when the other guys break down the door and look at the room. ahahha. After the movie we headed home. And that was it.

Today. I was going to go to Shanna's cookout. But couldnt because it was raining. She isnt feeling to well. She has a nasty headache. So she said she will call me later tonight.

Remember to Smile... People will wonder what you've been up to.

Saturday, July 28, 2001 10:40 AM - Window Tint = Good - Shanky
First I would like to that this time to hit the Ask Abdul page. Send him an email, he will answer it on this page. Pretty funny stuff. It is run by my friend Colter, and his web page Wing Wong's Wok. Abdul needs some emails. Go abuse him with your problems or problems with him.

Well I didnt go to work again yesterday. Not good on the pay check. Well couldnt pick it up either. Wasnt there. But I worked a total of two days for UPS this week. I did mow all five days for TruCut. But I didnt work more than four hours each day. Ohh well. No money for me. ARGH! My computer still has yet to be shipped out. Still sitting at the Supplier's Warehouse. Why oh why must it be there instead of here with me. I paid for the damn thing, it should be here, not there. But work, UPS, on Thursday kinda pissed me off. I was at no time like I normally am. This one guy, Shitty aka Mark Smith, just pisses me off. I havnt said a word to him in five weeks now. But yet he keeps trying to talk with me. I do not want to be around him at all. He is very annoying. You could ask Colter about how I acted on Thursday. I was bitching all over the place. Just about that one guy. He gets the name Shitty because he is worthless, he doesnt do anything, and needs help lifting a box that is more than 35lbs. We could be getting crushed with stuff, and he is whining, help me buddy, I need a hand buddy. Everyone at work makes fun of him. He has the stupidest laugh I have ever heard. Everyone laughs at his laugh. But then that just makes him laugh more. And it isnt a funny laugh, it is a very different and very annoying laugh. The guy is like 35 years old, almost bald, so he always wears a hat, and his mouth doesnt close. He left to go to the restroom two or three times in an hour period. Of course during the busy times. He is the main reason I want to get out of the Hagerstown UPS. I have no problem with anyone else. But spending two years listening to him whine about how he is tired, and how this job is to much work. But then does that every night. Over and over and over again. Kinda like this part of the post. Well I just want to say one thing about him. He is worthless. He is Shitty.

Ok. Back to me being happy again. Colter, just took me an extra day or two to post that. eheeh. But I did it, and didnt even plan on doing it either, he just pissed me off so much thinking about it.

Friday went very well. I only mowed for like three hours. Then came home and played SubSpace a bunch. Was doing real good too. Going to play that after I am done posting this. Then I had my brother follow me up to drop my car off to get the window tint put back on. So he took me home. Then he had to leave for work. So I didnt have a ride up to get my car back at 4pm when it was done. So I talked with Terry, he came and got me. Dropped me off up there. Then he had to do the feeding, so we planned on doing something together that night(last night). I gave Shanna a call at sometime in there. Think it was after I ate dinner. We had porkchops that I cooked on the grill. I was talking with Jon the whole time, he says his mom is going to get a 2001 Mustang GT. I will have to see the car sitting in their driveway before I really think twice about it. But at least he is going to get a good Mustang. Better than my friend Jamie who got the V6 Mustang last year. Terry's 93 Dodge Intrepid is faster than the sixbanger Mustang. Hmm I have to find out where my car sits in the pack. But I am never in it with these two are out. I always get a ride from them, because they both refuse to ride with someone esle, they must drive. Anyway, when I called Shanna, she wasnt home yet. So I left a message with her mom to tell her to give me a call when she gets home. I guess about 15 to 20 minutes later, she calls. It was great to talk with her, havnt said a word to her since Monday night, when we talked for like five minutes because she was tired. I guess we were on the phone for a while. But she had to go get some stuff for her mom, and she had to wash her car. So we got off. I was glad to see she wasnt dead or anything. Well back to window tint. Wait. I already said it all. Umm, I got it done at 15% like I posted earlier that I was going to get it done at. Looks good.
Fondue Pot WTF is it for?
The darker side windows make it look better. No more two tone window tint for me. If I get pulled over for that, why not just make it all dark. I will still get pulled over this way too. If so, I know the 'scam' will work so easily. Even easier than I dreamed it could have. AHAHH The pickup truck could have been mine and it would have worked! ahah. But Terry, Jon, and I went driving around. We drove into Waynesboro for some reason. But then we drove to Hagerstown, we stopped at a gas station because we had to pee. I got me a Strawberry Milk. It was good, like always. Then we went to Target. There we walked around looking and playing with everything. They didnt have the HotWheels car that I wanted. Plus the HotWheels cars were on sale, that make my Free HotWheels coupon end less valuable. I guess we were in the cookware part of the story the longest. Playing with all the different things, from Deep Friers, to toasters, to George Foreman grills, to Fondue Pots (what the hell is that for?), to ice cream makers, to well you get the idea. Everything in the Kitchen area. Then we headed to the Sporting goods and Automotive parts of the store. We were playing with the baseballs and little tiny kiddie gloves. Which we barely got our hands into. It was like catching the baseball barehanded. Playing with the ESPN Sportscenter football. That was I guess a display only ball, because it was very hard to throw and catch. Heheh we were doing all this in the store. Then they made the announcement that Target was closing in 15 minutes. So we finished up and left. Got back to my house, Jon went home (he lives right next door) and Terry and I went inside. Talked in the basement with Ryan forever. Think we left err he left, we went to bed around 12:40am. We were talking about games. And the good ol days. Terry, I was right. It was called Total Annihilation (you dont want to know how long it took me to spell that right, but I knew that was what it was called!). And everyone, StarCraft is much better than WarCraft. StarCraft is like Warcraft III would have been had it been a RTS game instead of the to be RPG. Anyway that is what we argued about all night. Plus we showed him SimCity3000, I cant beilve he has never played a SimCity game before, he says he played all the other build-up-run-um games. But never SimCity...

Ok. I am out. Shanna is going to call sometime this afternoon so we can figure out what we are doing tonight. So I will probally post again tomorrow with what i/we did. Good Bye and remember, I may not be perfect, but parts of me are excellent.

Thursday, July 26, 2001 02:55 PM - Now in Technocolor - Shanky
Well yesterday I got my car tint removed. When Sease and I came to pick it up. I about cried seeing my car sit there. It looked so naked. It didnt even look like my car. I was so sad. Still kinda am. I try not to think about it. Or even look at my car right now. Poor Sarah isnt going anywhere until I can put the tint back on. Sarah is my car's name. Yes I named my car. And Sarah is my favorite name, so my car gets it, because my car is my only true love. At least at the moment. Well as of right now it isnt. :( But she will be tomorrow if all goes to plan. I had to make another appt to get the tint put back on. Because the guy didnt have time to put it back on yesterday. So I am getting it put back on Friday at 1pm. And I am making it 15% (of the light goes through) the whole way around. If I am going to get busted when I had 35% on the two sides, why not just do everything at 15%. That way I cant bitch to much on how it looks bad from certain angles because the windows have different degrees of tint on them. Yea, after I drove the car to the police station in Waynesboro, I went inside and talked to some lady. She called for the nearest cop to come and check out my 'warning' card. So I went around back, where I was parked, and where the cop would come in. The cop that gave me my warning is on vaction this week, so I knew he wasnt going to show up an act like an asshole. But any cop can check out the warnings. It just happened that the one cop that I mow grass for shows up. I am wearing my TruCut tee-shirt, and I was remembering I just mowed the guys grass on Monday, or was it Tuesday. He looked like he kinda knew me. But I hand him the warning, and he asks me what it was for. I said I had to get my window tint removed. He just gave me a look that said how stupid the other cop was for pulling me over for just that. But he points to this pickup truck that I parked next to, he asks if thats mine. I said no, its the car next to it, while pointing at my car. He just said ok, took the warning card, and was gone. So I got in my car and disappeared too. So if I had the 'scam' go though like I had planned. It would have worked all to damn well. Hell I didnt even need a car that LOOKED like mine. I could have said, ya, thats my pickup truck and got away with it. Would have saved me a ton of time and money to get this window tint removed and then put back on. Ohh well. Shit happens. Didnt do anything the rest of the day.

Today. Well I dropped my car off to get it inspected. The wonderful people in Harrisburg make everyone in the state do it once a year. Well nothing was wrong with it. It passed without any kind of warnings or anything that needs to be checked on later. I was kinda afraid my tires and brakes wouldnt pass, or at least need replaced in the near future. But then that got me thinking. It is a new car, I bet the people didnt even check it much, if at all. How should I know, I was out mowing grass all day until it started to rain. Then I picked my car up and went out to eat at the Shit House (Parlor House, in waynesboro). We call it the Shit House because you have to take a shit about 20 to 30mins after eating there. Doesnt matter what I get. I think they put TurboLax in everything. I mean the food tastes good and all. I kinda like having to take a shit. Makes sure my system is nice and clean. Enough about my shit and problems with it, or lack of. I cant wait for tomorrow to come. I want my tint back on. Then life will be good again. And where the hell is my damn computer!! Ubid says it is still at the supplier's warehouse, where I assume it is getting put together. But its going to be two weeks tomorrow that is has been at that warehouse. If I dont have it at my house by next Friday, the 3rd (wow that is ryan's birthday, need to find a gift somewhere, no not the computer) I will have a big hissy fit on the phone with UBid tring to find out where the hell my computer is. And FedEx better not lose the damn thing like they did my monitor for a day. I will go out and buy speakers for the computer whenever I get it.

Some useless info for you. Today is almost special because the following things happened today.

In 1947, President Truman signed the National Security Act, creating the Department of Defense, the National Security Council, the Central Intelligence Agency and the Joint Chiefs of Staff. (I figured those organizations were older than that. I mean we were a country for how long, and didnt have a Dept of Defence? Was it the Dept of War back then?)
In 1964, Teamsters president Jimmy Hoffa and six others were convicted of fraud and conspiracy in the handling of a union pension fund. (This makes me feel proud to be a Teamster!)
In 1971, Apollo 15 was launched. (We had already landed on the moon, at this time, no one really cared)
In 1986, Kidnappers in Lebanon released the Rev. Lawrence Martin Jenco, an American hostage held for nearly 19 months. (I think I was related to that guy. Maybe not, actually...umm. no. I dont think so. but I do remember my grandfather talking about him, but I also remember never paying any attention to my grandfather, so probally I am not related to him, my grandfather, not the the Jenco guy. I know I am related to Martin.)

And to make up for yesterday, the story about one of the worlds greatest theifs. Going Ape Over Chimp's Phone Calls

And today we have two stupid people that wasted a ton of money to have what could have been a great suprise turn into something that only happens in movies. Lovers Criss-Cross World in Vain The only problem with this is, I would have done the exact same thing in that situation. I feel terrible. I only hope when this happens to me, I will only be flying from say DC to somewhere like Hawaii. And my girl can come from Hawaii to DC. That would be sweet. And I would have the ticket that I couldnt switch so I got to stay there. Dreams Dreams Dreams. What will really happen is that I am in Hawaii and she is in some shithole. Heehe, dan like that one?

I am in a good mood. (if I dont think about my nekkid car) So I will post one more thing. But I was going to save it for some other time. It lasted a total of two days before I post it. Not bad. It is how to make an Origami Boulder. I found these simple to follow instructions, but I forgot them. But I stole the pictures. I think it is very intreseting on how much time is involed to create such a masterful piece of artwork. Only part is, this is the best I could do with those silly square pieces of toilet paper the asian people call paper. Enjoy.

Tuesday, July 24, 2001 01:33 PM - Nothing better to do - Shanky
Today's Image: the Red Spider Nebula
I am back. Been busy like always. So lets just get into what I have done recently.

Saturday: Ended up playing baseball as we planned. Terry, Jamie, and I all got there on time. Dan and Shanna were both late... Dan was only 15mins late, but he had to help clean up at his chruch get together. Shanna had personal reasons for being an hour late that I wont get into, but she was an hour late. :) Jamie had his sister and her boyfriend show up. And he brought his sister too. We didnt have enough to play a game or anything. So we just had someone batting and pitching and kinda played home run derby, but never kept track of the home runs. So I guess it was just a batting practice type thing. Still was fun. Oh Dan and I did get another event done, Stike Zone Challenge. In which Dan won. Scores: Round1: Chris 3 of 10, Dan 4 of 10. Round2: Chris 3 of 10, Dan 0 of 10, Round 3: Chris 3 of 10, Dan 4 of 10. Dan wins, we go by scoring rounds not totals. So the current standings have me ahead 2-1.

After we all got tired of baseball, I had my cookout at my house. Dan and I went to the store earlier in the day to buy all the stuff we needed. I was the cook. Everything went well until Shanna dumped water all over Terry, then the real fun began. She was scared of him getting revenged. She ran upstairs into my room and locked herself in it. I went up there to see what the hell was going on (Dan and I were inside getting more food ready and put away). But she wouldnt open the door. She thought Terry was out there with me. But really no one was upstairs exepct me and her. Everyone else was outside. She finally did open the door after about ten minutes. After she cooled down from the excitement she ended up dumping Dan with water. Which was really funny. Dan was ready to put the Cherry Pie (that he picked out and no one liked, so he ate it by himself) into Shanna's face. He should have done it too. Anyway, Terry was plotting his revenge. And got a nice big glass of water and ended up getting Shanna pretty good. She didnt even see it coming. I was next. I knew I wouldnt escape it. So I got ready for it by taking off my shoes and socks. I knew when she was going to do it too. She faked out trying to throw water at Jamie, so I turned my back, like she was probally hoping. But while my back was turned, I filled up my spoon with ice cream ready to fling at her. When she came after me with the water, I flipped the spoon back and let it go. So as she dumpped the water down my back and head, I nailed her with the ice cream. She didnt expect it at all. It was so funny. So she was going after the ice cream to get my back. I grapped a nice hand full after she rubbed the ice cream all over me. I got her good with it. So that kinda ended our tricks. For now.. They did something. Shanna said she was leaving. So I kinda followed her around the house. But I went back around while she went inside. I was standing under the porch for a while with the garden hose ready to fire. I couldnt see anything because of the darkness. But after about five minutes of waiting, I let the water loose. I didnt get them wet that much. Since the garden hose had some plant watering thing on the end. But it still worked, just not as well as I wanted. So we just cleaned up our mess and started to talk. Terry ended up having to leave, he had the feeding to do. But Shanna, Dan, and I started to get into some serious questions. Jamie didnt look to confortable, because he didnt say much, and when we asked him something, he seemed to either ignore it or answer as quickly as he could. We learned alot about each other. But Shanna wanted to go home, she had to wash all the ice cream off her. As did I. Plus we had to get up for the baseball game on Sunday.

After Shanna left. Dan and I started to do our 'Wuss Games' while Jamie just stood there watching. I guess he might have been reffing it. Anyway, Dan and I did wrestling, arm wrestling, mercy, and tug of war. We were at it for a good hour or so. Ahahah we were out until almost 2am rolling in the grass in front of my house. Both of us had a ton of fun. Then we had to sleep.

Sunday: We headed out to the Orioles baseball game. They played the Angels. The game started at 1:35. Cal Ripken didnt play, but we saw him in the dugout. His replacement. Tony Bastilla (sp?) hit a home run into the section right next to us. So I am sure he did better than Cal would have. The game was pretty good, much better than I expected. But like Dan kept saying, it didnt matter, both of the teams are not going anywhere into the playoffs or anything. So the game was kinda meaningless. The Orioles ended up losing to the Angels 9-4.

Monday: Mowed grass in the morning. Went to UPS at night. Didnt get my window tint 'scam' done. And isnt going to happen. :( Poop cant help me out, he has been very busy painting. So I got to get it taken off. Talked with Dan on the phone like all night. He is leaving today, tuesday to go Michigan. Not coming back until Monday.

Tuesday: Tim and I mowed some more grass. Then I came home and called up places to get my tint removed. And had to make an appt to get my car inspected too.

Dan: I found a bigger loser than you. Serial Loser Chalks Up 100th Defeat

Saturday, July 21, 2001 10:36 AM - Am I still alive? I dont know - Shanky
Why does this always happen?
I have been kinda busy the last few days. Lots of stuff has happened. First I would like to say something about the occurance that happened to me Wednesday morning. Well I was on my way to Sease's house, and I put up to this four way stop. And this cop car comes in there too. I think nothing of it, and go, since I was there way before he was. Well he goes and blows a u-turn in the middle of that intersection, there wasnt any cars around. So I was like wtf, I didnt do anything wrong. I wasnt speeding and I did come to a complete stop at the stop sign, and as for as I know, I am not wanted for any reason by the police. So I get the next four-way stop. And I go though that. And the cop is still following me. That really make me wonder what the hell I did wrong. But he still didnt turn his lights on, so I wasnt pulling over. Well he gets on my ass and tailgates me for about 200 feet then turns his lights on, I guess to my attention. He had that when he blew the u-turn in that intersection. Well he comes up and asks for my license and registration. So while I hand it too him (because I already dug out all the stuff while he was sitting in his cop car for about five minutes). I gave him an expired registration card, so I had to dig out the new one. Since the card just came in the mail like a month ago, I never threw out the old one. But I actually saw him LOOK at the PA inspection sticker on my car, first time I have seen a cop do that before (it needs inspected this month, but he didnt say anything about it, I still have like ten days). But while I was looking for the new registration card, I asked him why he stopped me. He seemed to not tell me when he came up. So I wanted to know why the hell I was pulled over for something I couldnt figure out what I did wrong. So he tells me that my window tint on my car is illegal. WTF! He pulls me over for my window tint? I knew damn well it was illegal when I got it put on. But that was like a year and a half ago. I never got questioned for it before, even when I got my speeding ticket, but I guess that was in Maryland, so the cop probally couldnt do anything about it then. But I have driving by tons of cops in the town of Waynesboro before. Never once have they even slowed down to care. Well the cop had the tint meter with him. So he took measurements of my windows. He took a reading from the rear driver's side window (in my coupe, so it doesnt matter how dark that window is) but he still took the reading. It came out on the meter at 12% of the light went though. Hehe, I just smiled. Then he took the measurement on my driver's side window and it came at 33% of the light went though. The legal limit in the state of PA he said was 70% of the light had to go though. Well as you can see, I was way below the limit. But from my knowledge of the law, by talking with people, My rear window and both my driver and passanger windows have to meet that law, but my rear sides windows dont. But the cop measured that window and not the rear one. Wondering if my sunroof was closed if he would have measured that one. If he would have, I probally would have flipped out on him. Its a damn sunroof, wtf, most cars dont have one, that means NONE of the light goes though, go bust every single car without a sunroof then. But lucky for him, and I am sure me. He didnt say anything about the sunroof. But he gives me a Warning card, which I would scan if my scanner worked. Or I would take a picture of with the digital card, if that wasnt with my parents. But all it really says is that I have five days to go back to the police station to show them that I have my window tint removed. So I have until Monday to show them I have a car without window tint on it. hehehehe, brings me to my excellent plan, which I cant write about for fear of getting busted. But anyway, it says Honda Coupe, Black (00) on the warning card. Doesnt say anything esle exepct my license plate number. Well I have a friend at work at UPS that has a car just like mine, without any tint, same color, model, year, everything. And since I didnt put any modifications on my car expect the window tint and a stereo, ehehhe, who will ever know. When Sease got busted a few times, he took he truck in, they just came out, glanced at it, and said he could go. They didnt really check anything. So I though my license plate, and my PA inspection sticker on his car. Bingo. My car does not have any window tint. The guy at work said he should be able to help me out too! So looks like Monday I pull of this 'scam', Dan likes to call it a 'scam' or was it 'scheme'. Who cares it was one of those, and he isnt involved but tries to feel like he is.

Well that was Wednesday. At work that night, I asked if I could be guarenteed off by 9pm the following night. My superviser said yea, dont come in tomorrow. So I said ok, and he told me he would just use one of my sick or personal days so I get paid for it too! Sweet. That ended Wednesday.

Thursday, Sease and I had to mow alot. I didnt really want too, but I was kinda in the mood to mow. Dont know why. He felt the same way. (unlike both of us on friday, where we has alot to do, but both didnt want to, I will get to that) But we got done with all the stuff. Then I came home, took a quick nap after I got off the phone with dan to tell him what time the movie started. So we were heading out to the Valley Mall movies. I pick up Dan, since he was kinda on my way. That way we dont have to take four cars, since both Terry and Shanna were driving thier own cars down too. Well our goal was to make it to the 7:10pm showing, since I didnt have to work at UPS that night. Well Shanna shows up I guess at 7:10 or very near to it (before or after). So we opt for the 7:50 showing. So I used my quaters and some that Terry owed me for my spy operations. I got a bunch of super balls. So we were throwing them all over the food court. Then we headed to the big open hallway that heads to the movie place. We were bouncing them off the ceiling, the walls, and each other. One go loose and headed back to the food court, some little kid picked it up and walked away with his dad. I wasnt about ready to go get it back from him, it was only 25 cents. Well it was the best colored super ball. Maybe I should have traded with the kid. Then I went to Target to go look for some HotWheels cars. Didnt get any, but was very tempted to get a thing of Goldfish. They are yummy. Should have gotten them too, but I didnt want to stand in line just to get one pack. (did you know Pepperidge Farm produces over one million Goldfish per hour? didnt think so)

Well the movie was pretty good. I expected better while I was watching it. But what really set the movie back was its one hour and 32 mintue playing time. That screwed it over a bit. The ending was kinda quick, everyting happened fast. I wished the army people would have gotten eaten by a dinosaur. That would have made it better. In the whole movie. Not more than 10 people died. I dont think it was even that high of a number. I liked Lost World better because they had the big groups of people that didnt know anything about dinosaurs and just kept getting their asses killed. But the more I look back at Jurassic Park 3 it becomes better than when I saw it. I am going to have to watch it again. To get the full affect. I need to stop coming into movies with expectations. But everytime I say that I never can do it.

After the movie, we tried to go to Chick-Fil-A. But they closed at 10:00pm. And it was 10:00pm... Damnit. I had a free chicken sandwish coupon from them I wanted to use too. So we went to Burger King instead. On the way there I stopped at a gas station to get some NesQuick Strawberry Milk. It was gooood too. But I did eat a eight piece chicken tenders at Burger King. Then we all headed home.

Friday: I had to mow. Didnt feel like it at all, but either did Sease. I got to his house at 7am. But we both kinda slept in his living room until 8:30am. Then we got started. Nothing special happened. But after we were done mowing, we went up to Chambersburg to a place called Nitterhouse. First time I was there. It is their main place for the stuff. We got a ton of sand. Literally. We got one ton of sand :) eheh. And we went though the Wendy's drive-thru with it too. Some fat lady that was working thier back drive-thru window was staring at us. But we couldnt move up to get away from her looking at us because their were others cars in front. So we started to talk about how bad fast food is and the where's the beef commerial and wondering if there is really 'beef' in our burgers. But we would talk loud enough for her to hear us. hahha it was funny. The fat lady stopped looking at us then. We went back to his place. I got my car, then had to head out to UPS.

UPS wasnt bad. I got to talk to the guy about the 'scam' and he said he should be able to help me out on Monday. Hopefully he can and will. Save my ass some money. Work went good. Didnt get out late or anything. So I was happy.

Saturday: Still in the making. Dan and I are going to go get some food for the cookout we are having tonight at my house. After the baseball game and other stuff we are playing at the park at 6pm. Will post something later about it.

Thursday, July 19, 2001 06:40 AM - Recent stuff - Shanky

I will post about everything that happened yesterday. Kinda alot. To sum it up, I got busted by a PA cop, well the town police force. First time I got pulled over by a PA cop, I have gotten pulled over and recieved a speeding ticket in MD. But this PA offence, to be named in the next post, was just a warning. But it royally pissed me off. Because for over the past year nothing was ever said about it and I am getting ready to leave for school and I get busted for it.

Next big thing was that I got my monitor, FedEx finally found my house. Everyone, ship UPS and have it there right. :) hehe

Oh, and Ryan/Ashley/Family. The cat is bugging the hell out of me. Come home and let her outside or something. All she does it walk across the keyboard and tries to rub up against me.

Wednesday, July 18, 2001 09:29 AM - And i am still alive - Shanky

Yes my NyQuil is working. I am starting to feel better. But my cough isnt completly gone yet. My monitor is still on its damn way. FedEx lost is. Should have used UPS. But Ubid doesnt offer UPS shipping anymore, only FedEx. My computer is still in the process of being put together Ubid says. So dont know when I will get that yet.

But yesterday was kinda intresting to say the least. It certianly was busy for me. We tried to go mow some stuff. But the places we were going to do, the person either said dont do them, or they didnt need done. So Sease and I end up digging a big hole to put in a patio for his parents. A 12foot by 18foot hole about six to eight inchs deep. To shorten this story up a bit, when we went to dump the dirt/clay out, the hyrdolic line busted, so we had to take the truck to the EZ Dumper place. Which is where they make them and was about 2000feet from where we were dumping the dirt/clay. Well I had to head off to work at UPS so I didnt get to see the end of it.

Work at UPS wasnt to bad. We did get more than our usual amount, but we had everyone working last night. Because we had some big audit thing, so they wanted everything to try to run smoothly. I never knew we had so many people there. A ton of new people, all in the trailer loading the boxs, we never ran a shift with that many people. And the belts didnt get shut down for long when they had to be turned off. Which I am sure went well for the audit too. I dont know how it turned out, but I know after they all left, the supervisors started to move people around lot, sending some people home (higher seniority people). Well not really sending, asking, but of course they wanted to go. And they moved more people into the unloads to get that done faster while taking some sorters away. GREAT IDEA COOK! I mean Poop. So we got hammered with tons of boxes and the belts were off alot. Wished those damn fat ass auditers would have stayed to see that mess. But I got off in pretty good time, being higher on the seniority list, I got to leave before alot of people. Which was good. I was having Terry and maybe Shanna over to watch a movie, Snatch. I got home at 9:35pm, when I told them to expect me home around 9:30. So I did a pretty good job with that. Shanna couldnt make it. So Terry and I watched it. We both saw it at the movies when it first came out. But it was good to watch it again, my fifth time, his second. Then I went to bed after taking my NyQuil.

Tuesday, July 17, 2001 11:57 PM - Sorry - Shanky

Sorry, not really a post tonight. Tired, and didnt have time today to post anything. I worked all day and then had to work all night. I watched Snatch with Terry tonight, Shanna couldnt make it. Got to take my NyQuil again and head to bed. I might get to mow some grass tomorrow, how much I dont know. I want to get my hair cut sometime this week. One word: Poop

Monday, July 16, 2001 11:50 PM - I am sick: Part 2 - Shanky

Yes I am still sick.. I got my nice good ol' sleep. But I still feel like I am ready to pass out. I just cant. I just took my hit of NyQuil. And yes I mean hit. Most amount of alcohol I have had since I was sick last time and had the stuff(NyQuil, I dont drink).

Anyhow, work went pretty good. Was in the primary with Colter the whole night. We just talked about stuff. But he read the site, so he knew everything that happened to me... so that cut my conversation done quite a bit. Colter: Go read the links from umm..Sunday. The story I couldnt remember was the duck one! But make sure to read that Butcher story. That is the best one. But I got out of work early, 9:45 when I clocked out. 9:35 is when they told me to leave. But I stick around talking and then go wash my hands, take a piss, wash my face (not in that order), etc..

Then I headed to Martins(supermarket around here) to get my handy NyQuil (that is starting to kick in now). **yea my first drugged up post!** But I pick it out and head to the cashier. She is some 17 year old blonde, not to bad looking, dont remember her name. But ..ooo drugs kicking in now.. she asked if I had my Bonus Card, which I didnt, because I only got NyQuil, and it wasnt a Bonus Buy or anything. (But the Card was out in my car, if it was) But she asked me. I had to say no and quickly explain it was in my car and this was not a Bonus Buy item in fear that she will try to make me sign up for a Bonus Card. Well I happened to cough why I was at the check out. And she asks me in some sweet little girly voice, "Are you sick?" I was about ready to go 'No Bitch I am buying this to get a nice buzz off tonight' but I am not that mean (plus I am not really THAT sick, if I was then I would have said that). But I said "that is what that is for," while pointing at the NyQuil bottle. And she says "I hope you feel better sweetie." Right there I kinda wished I was a bit more sick, that way I really would have back-handed her. (When I get sick, I lost any sence of what I am doing, or what I say, and things just kinda happen, another reason I dont speed when I am sick). But no I just said thanks and left.

Denny's was good. I got there at 9pm, or a min or two earlier. So I just put my seat down (farther down from where it is already laying), and just tryed to take a little nap. I couldnt fall asleep, just had my eyes closed. Terry showed up first, I told him about how I called Dan and Shanna from work. Dan wasnt home, so I left a msg with his mom. And I left a msg on the answering machine at Shanna's house. She was in the shower I later find out. Dan went to the Outlets after he was done with school, so that is why his mom didnt know where he was. But we waited inside Denny's for about five minutes trying to get someone to take us to some seats and take our orders. I got a Classic Burger with apple sause instead of fries. I should have gotten the fries beacuse that apple sause was good and all, but small in compared to what I could have gotten with the fries. I wanted to get some ice cream, but the lady never showed up until everyone was done, and I didnt feel like making everyone wait for me to get and eat my ice cream. (i was the first done with my food, so ice cream would have worked then) I know Terry, Dan, and Shanna, you would have waited, I know, but I still didnt want to make you wait. So that was it. We paid, walked outside, stood there for a bit talking about something, think it was this page and my stupid updates. Then we headed home. Terry, I was going slow because I am sick. But Shanna went the same way I was heading home. Dont know why, she flashed her lights at me (i turned down the music, and I heard the horn beeping too). So I pulled over thinking I had a light out or something. But she just kept driving. So I asked her what was up at the red light in Smithsburg, Md. and she said she just was driving around. Umm ok. yea. Going to bed now. NyQuil about knocked me out so far. Cya.

Monday, July 16, 2001 03:36 PM - I am sick - Shanky

Thats right. I am sick. Dont ask me how. I have had a runny nose since Friday night, and now today I am pretty bad. I got to go get some NytQuil or something like that. I had to mow this morning, did four and a half hours of work. Not to bad, didnt mow two yards because they didnt need it at all. But Tim and I started the day off trimming some shrubs for some lady in Greencastle. Well she wanted her plants trimmed back but not shaped. Ok. Not shaped. As in the way I would have done then when I was like eight years old. Both Tim and I didnt know how the hell to trim back shurbs without shaping them. We cut shrubs in shapes. But the lady wanted a 'natural' look to them. So we tried our best. Dont know if she is happy with them or not, they are not shaped, we took off the new growth, and they look much worse than they did when we started. But they look 'natural' and really look like they need shaped now. But they are not shaped.... Stupid people. Bet we get to go back out there tomorrow and shape them.

Well after mowing and all. I came home and went straight to bed. So I can sleep before I have to go to UPS tonight. Which I start early. A whole half hour early (start at 4:30pm). So I got about two and half hours of sleep. My parents only called once, after I was asleep for about 15 minutes. I think the cat is sick too, she cant meow right. It is really light, usually she is very loud and annoying so she can get her way. Her ways = going outside. But I cant do that because I wont be home to let her back in.

After work, Shanna, Terry, and Dan are meeting me at Denny's. We said 9:30pm tonight, but I dont know. I will try to be there by then, but we might have alot of shit to do at UPS. I told Shanna I would call her before 9pm to update my status with her, I think I will try calling Dan between 8 and 9 tonight also, so I can give Terry and Dan some notice too. Yummy, food for dinner.

Day number three(Monday): The house is still standing, no parties, and I am sick and cant do much.

Yesterday(Sunday): I didnt do anything. I just layed around watching TV and taking the cat outside. I was going to help ref some matches in Premier League. But since the SS.Net servers didnt work most last week, noone could get their game times official. So I played in Chaos most of the day. Then Shanna calls me, but I was outside with the cat, I was thinking I need to get the phone and bring it out here with me. So I checked the answering machine, and there she was. She said she called like five minutes earlier. We ended up going to see the movie Score, with DeNiro(sp?, I am to lazy to go find links today). Terry had homework so didnt want to come, and Shanna said Dan didnt want to come, dont know why. So it was just us too. I didnt have a bad time, we ended up talking for a while in the parking lot. But the movie sucked. Dont go see it. It was very slow in the beginning and in the middle. Hell the ending was kinda slow until he actually robs the place. But it had its down times. I give the movie a D(one star out of four). I need to go back to sleep. I probally should call in sick to work. But I dont want to, it will wake me up. And I want to go to Denny's after work. Hope I can go without being late. (Denny's is less than five minutes from UPS in Hagerstown)

Sunday, July 15, 2001 11:21 AM - Well this just sucks... - Shanky

I had a nice long post about stupid shit that I found in the news, Ducklings in Trouble, Mother Calls the Police, Family Sues Coke Over Son's Death, and Butcher Runs Amok, Kills Four (with this linking into China's human rights and Olympic Games in 2008) I even had lots of nice numbers like "Chinese authorities had executed more people in the past three months than the rest of the world put together in the last three years. It estimated that 1,700 alleged criminals had been put to death since April," all worked out comparing to the butcher story. Which was spawned off by the stupid drunk guy who was killed by shaking a Coke machine and it feel on him. The "35 people had died since 1978 in the United States from toppling vending machines," was my big bang. I even got a quote for the dead guy on why and how he did it, thanks to John Edwards.

But NO... I had to push the damn X instead of the _ in IE didnt I. Damnit. I had it written out very nice. Much better than all the other shit I did. This was BadAssMofo quality reporting here. But no. I had to be the damn moron that I am and push the X.....

Well lets talk about my day yesterday, that was the whole point of me updating anyway. My parents called me about every 45mins to tell me where they were, how they were looking for a Wendy's, how they got stuck in traffic in the Bronx, how they moved 5mins in those 45mins in the Bronx traffic, where they were again, when they finally ate at McDonalds in Connecticut, how much the stupid value meal was there, when they crossed a border into a new state, how many times they had to stop for the bathroom, how many shortcuts they took to make the trip longer, where they got lost at, etc... Well I made the last three up. But if any of those WOULD have happened, I would have been the first to know. I thought I was bad when I was in Ocean Ciy, Maryland, when I would call home after I did something to rub it in, but that was good stuff. Like 'Hey, I am at the beach, want to hear the waves come in?' or 'I just got done playing paintball for the first real time' or 'We are about to leave' and 'We are 45 minutes away from being home'. But I didnt call all the time like them. I cant wait to get in big trouble when they read this. HAHAH. I am dead.

Well besides all the pesky phone calls from them, I did manage to get somethings done. Dan and I bought our Orioles vs Angels tickets for Sunday, July 22nd at 1:35pm. Our tickets are for section 82, row ZZ (the last row in the section), seats 10-12. Shanna is the third person. So we will roughly have a view like this one right here. Not bad for $18 seats for a big league game. But Ticketmaster can burn in hell for adding all their damn surcharges and handling fees and convientance charges. I am sure there are plenty more than I wont figure out until we get the actually bill.

We also played baseball yesterday, everyone got hurt someway or another. Most of it was during our game of Strikeout, where you are the pitcher and another person is the batter, and your goal is to strike them out. Well us not being the very best of pitchers ended up hitting each other with the baseballs (not on purpose or anything, we are Rick Ankiel wild). And our top speed fastballs of 50+ mph really blow some smoke. Well Terry got hurt before that in our hit popups to everyone esle who is standing in the outfield game, Terry swung around to hard and slipped on the infield dirt and busted his leg all up. He lived, only some blood, but big nasty looking cut. He also got hit by pitchs in the elbow twice. The second one put him out of the game. Jamie swung to hard against my REALLY nasty breaking ball and heard something 'snap' in his arm, but like a true wussy baseball player, he was back in there swinging away until I knocked him in the leg with a ball, good thing that wasnt a fastball either. Dan got hurt from something that I cant remember, plus he had a very hard time making it over the three foot outfield fence. We played in a Little League field, makes us feel better when we hit a homerun over the 250foot fences. Maybe they are 300, but I dont think so. I got nailed in the leg by Jamie, and once in the back of the other leg by Dan, that one stung for a while. But my big injury was when I was playing catcher for Jamie, I thought I was going to catch the ball, but it missed my glove and hit me right in the knee, right below the knee cap. I couldnt walk right the rest of the night. I am fine now. Doesnt hurt when I hit it either. After that we all went out to eat at Perkins. Then we finished the day off at WalMart looking at hotwheels cars(10mins), lego racers(45mins), and looking for the super ball machine, didnt find it. What a great day.. Wish my damn rant that I first wrote would have been here to let you read, it was good too.

Saturday, July 14, 2001 10:39 AM - Let the parties begin (+computer) - Shanky
The Camel choose Pepsi over Coke in the Challenge
Well my brother(MGB, Ryan), sister, and parents are gone on vaction until Friday, the 20th, I get to be home all along. Why didnt I go with them? Because I couldnt get out of work. But if we would have went on vaction where we normally do(which I took two weeks off from work to do) I could have went with them, but no, my dad couldnt get out of work.

Interesting fact: Yesterday was Friday the 13th. And I didnt even know until late last night! Where is the fun in that?

Well anyways, they went to hell I dont know where, let me go look it up.... la la la... ok here it is, Falmouth, Ma., to stay at a timeshare place called Briarwood. So anyone from that area, or planning on making a trip there within the next week, my family is the goofy looking bunch from South/Central Pa with the Honda Accord. I am sure there cant be to many of them.

So I am home alone. Now everyone the parties start tonight at my house, 123 Fake St. Waynesboro, Pa 17268 (eheh 123 Fake St. taken from the last Simpsons, where Marge dials 911 and was ohh hell get back on topic). Actually I have pretty much nothing planned to do today. Shanna is gone all weekend, so she cant tell me what to do today, guess I have nothing to do. Will end up going somewhere with Terry and Dan, maybe Jamie too. Like the park to play baseball, tennis, basketball, or something of the like.

Last night was a great night. At work I was up in the pickoff, like Tuesday night and about every other night helping out, but I was up there by myself again. I got hammered a few times, all because the boxes kept getting stuck in my elbow(nice big U-turn where the boxes make their turn to come up to me on my belt, when lots of boxes come at once, they all get stuck there). But overall I didnt do to much work. I had a friends radio( he was off yesterday) to use and listen to all night. I had it on the Oldies Rock station, 97.5 The Mountain, most of the night. But I had it on Magic 101.5 and Revolution 103.7 which are more modern rock stations that play way to much teenie music. The Oldies Rock was pretty cool, they usually play the good stuff only, not the shitty old stuff. Kinda funny when I listen to that, you here the orginal versions of songs that newer artists steal the beats to. Like Puff Daddy's Come with Me, dont know what the old songs name is, but the beat just rocked on the old one. And Vanilla Ice's Ice Ice Baby beat. I was like wtf? they are going to play Vanilla Ice?!? Glad they didnt, but that old song kinda sucked. I dont know the names to any of the songs, but most of them were good. It put a smile on my face to hear decent music that I did not know, plus I was to lazy most of the time to change the station. I got out at a pretty good time, probally the earliest so far this week, not to mention I get an extra dollar an hour for doing the pickoff. When the only RadioShack hit, it pretty much all went to the other side (HV2, the other pickoff person) and he got crushed big time. (ahahah I just did a search with radioshack's Ask a Jeeves type seach, I put in "are you gay?", it came back with 85 matches, ahahhahahah, I hate radioshack because they ship to much stuff though us, but I guess that gives me a job huh?, screw'um) So that was the last trailer we had to do, and it all went to the other guy, Kramer, so I was just sitting there waving at him with a big smile on my face listening to the radio while my belt was moving, but with nothing on it, while his was stopped with tons of shit all over it, yes real shit, not that fake stuff. But I was getting really bored, because I would get a box every 4 or 5 mins so I couldnt just leave. And me, I cant just be doing nothing like I was, I was pacing back in forth, looking around at everything, trying to find someone to talk to, I would yell out 'Poop' at Colter sometimes, ahahh and he would yell it out back at me. That was the highlight of my bordem. (We yell out 'Poop' because it sounds like the one superviser's name, Cook, and since you cant hear that well, the belts get load, he always thinks we are yelling out 'Cook' instead of what we are really yelling out, 'Poop'. Only problem was that he was on vaction the whole last week, but it is still our little inside joke. ahha)

After work I stopped by Adam's house in Smithsburg, Md. I used to work with him at McDonalds and at UPS until he got hurt and didnt wnat to get hurt any more, he loves to ski, injuries to legs he doesnt take lightly. So he works as a bank teller now, and loves it, plus gets to work with a bunch of girls (always a big plus). He had some girl over, think her name was Emily, very nice girl, not to bad looking either, I give her a B+. We talked a bit, Adam and I, but mostly I was just staring at the fire they had going. Fire Good. Napster Bad.

Here is that Simpons quote anyway then I get back to topic:

Homer: OOOH BROWNIES!! Marge: No Homer you cant have them Homer: Homer wants a brownie and hes gonna get one, homer wants a brownie and he's gonna get one! (singsong voice) Homer: dah doh dee duh! (trying to get them) Homer: dee dah doh *marge accidently cuts off his thumb instead of brownie* Homer: AHHHHHHH!!!! Marge: Oh my god!! *calls 911* Cheif Wiggum: 911 this better be good (relaxing back in his chair) Marge: I've cut off my husbands thumb! Wiggum: Attempted murder! you'll burn for this! ...now tell me your adress so I can arrest you! Marge: Arrest me? Umm... I live at uh.. 1... 2..3 ..fake street (123 fake street) Wiggum: 123 fake St. Got it!

Yea. back to me. On the way home I had the sunroof open and was looking at the stars (yes instead of driving, I do that alot) Well I love to just look at the stars, and last night was a great night to do that. It was extra clear, nice crisp night. And there were more stars than normally visiable out last night. Very cool. Hope tonight is like that too, I didnt get much time to look at them last night after I got home, but I did manage to get outside in the woods for a few minutes. Hell the drive home was very nice, I couldnt go fast because I got stuck behind a ton of cars, but it kept me from having a chance to get a speeding ticket, plus I got to look around, there is this one tree I see coming home from work every night that looks the best right at dusk, which is normally when I drive by it. I will try to get a picture of it sometime. Maybe Shanna will let me use her really good camera so I can have a nice picture of it.

Well I got myself my computer last night too! The same one I wanted a few days ago, but got outbid by $20. Well I put in $749 (the price the last one sold for) and I got it!! Better than the $969 the few previous ones went for. Well here is the auction page. It is an Athlon 1.4GHz, with 768MB RAM, a 60GB HD, and a 16X DVD. It has some cheap 64meg video card, which I will probally replace later on. And I might have to get a better sound card. Since my monitor was shipped out all I need to get is some speakers for the computer and I should be ready.

So what a great night huh? Hope to have days like this all the time.

Friday, July 13, 2001 09:23 AM - Skip the lines? - Shanky
The Medusa at Six Flags Great Adventure, NJ
This story from USA Today titled Life in the fast lane, which is about the new way amusement parks are trying to cut down on wait time for their most popular rides got be thinking of my past using the one at Universal's Islands of Adventure in Orlando, Flordia. The on at the Islands of Adventure I used was different from the one in the article. But still about as non-effective as you can get. It was still called Express then too. Anyway if you had a twoday ticket, you can get into the parks like an hour or two early. Which wasnt bad, since I like to be there when it opens or shortly afterwards. Well if anyone has been to Islands of Adventure, you will know that the most popular ride there is the Spiderman 3-d adventure thing. It is a pretty cool ride, but the wait is always at least an hour. Many times it was up near 90mins. But the record we say (Ryan says we saw) was 3hours long. So when we got there, well everyone else went there too. So the special Express line was there, the Express Card stated that it shouldnt be longer than a 15min wait. Well it was. Like 30mins, but I guess that is better than an hour. But the park was only open to people who wanted to come early and had to have a two day pass. The regular lines where not open yet, because the park wasnt really open to the public yet. So the only lines to get in where the Express ones. Well when I went to the Incredible Hulk coaster, one of the coolest rides there, the thing is huge, mega G's. The Express line wasnt to bad. I think I only had to wait 15mins, but most of it was to techincal difficulties, which is always a good think to know right before they strap you in the thing. Well I was going to ride it again, but by that time I saw that the regular lines where open now, and the Express one was still there. Well the Express line kept getting longer, I guess the people didnt know the park opened early or something, and they just must have though Express line = faster. Well I compared the two, the Express and the regular. Not to my suprise was that the regular line was far shorter than the Express. Kinda like labeling a cookie Old and New, who will buy the one with the Old label on it. But if you look at both the Old and New cookies, they were baked at the same time. So I strolled over to the regular line. I waited about 5 mins because they were doing the Express line then regular then Express again rotation to try to get the Express people though faster. Then they switched to like 2/3 of the coaster was Express and the others were the regular line. But the front seats, which are always the extra longer line to get were only going to the regular line people. Which I thought was kinda funny. Because when I went though the Express line, the guy told me if I wanted the front I had to go jump across the bars to get in the front seat line(part of the regular lines). Well with the regular lines open, you can just jump across. Well to shorten this up a bit, when I got off the ride, I still saw people getting into the Express line instead of the much shorter(and can sit in the front) regular line. But the Express looked to be about a 25min wait compared to the maybe 5min for the normal line.

Well back to the article for something quick. The way they have it there now, says the article, I dont like the way Univeral or Disney did their setups. But Six Flags in Great Adventure sounds great. Waiting in lines always sucked. And getting pre-assigned times to ride it with no wait would work with me. Plus if I got a bad time, I would just trade it with someone, which is possible at the Six Flags park. I dont like the idea of paying extra though. It should be the park's system to help speed things though, not because you can pay more to have them cator to you. But Univerial did do something right with their pay more get more type of thing, it isnt pay more. It is stay at our Hotels and get rewarded for quicker lines while you pay out the ass for our Hotels. Starting at almost $200 a night is outragous. STARTING at! I better have the whole park to myself. Well at Islands of Adventure, there is one great ride, my favorite coaster of all time that I have riden, The Dueling Dragons, and there is almost no wait, or very little, because it is WAY in the back of the park. Noone ever goes that far back. Hell the line is a good two-tenths of a mile long(really is, takes like 4mins to walk though it all, and you will not see a single person the whole way until the ride, unless you get stuck behind someone who walks slow), that is with all shortcuts in it. They have enough 'lines' to hold over a five hour wait for the ride. Anyway it is the greats coaster I have been on. And no Express pass needed, just got to bring your hiking legs to get there.

The Medusa picture above is one hell of a good ride. Better than the BATMAN at Great Adventure I am sorry to say :( Dont know how the new ride there is. Didnt visit NJ this year.

Thursday, July 12, 2001 12:39 PM - My new 19incher - Shanky
I bought myself a new monitor for school. I got a Sony 19-Inch Multiscan G400 Trinitron Display from UBid.Com. I really had my eye on the 21inch trinitrons but for the extra $300 I didnt think it was worth it. I AM a college student, I cant afford everything I want, but I sure do wish I could. I have been bidding on some computers recently. My goal is to get a 1.3ghz or higher athlon. My favorite and was closes to winning, was this Athlon 1.4GHz 768MB RAM 60GB HD 16X DVD. My highest bid was $729. But it was sold for $749. If I would have known that I would have spent the extra $20 to bid for it. I will be bidding on more of the computers like that. I will get one eventually. I am just happy I got my monitor. That is one of the two things I am after. Now I get to gather my forces and make a run at the computer.

Wednesday, July 11, 2001 11:39 AM - Sharks - Hey! Where is my arm? - Shanky

Because of that little boy that got his arm and leg bitten off by shark in Florida on Friday. I desided to do a little Shark related research of my own. And see how much of a target I would be.

Note: I am a 20 year old white male.
- Graph of White Shark Attacks vs. Age of the Victim
- Graph of White Shark Attacks vs. Victim's Sex
- Graph of White Shark Attacks vs. Victim's Race

As you can see by those graphs, the next time I step foot in the water I am a gone. Ohh and like 83% of the attack occur in water 0-5ft deep. Yes. the NEXT TIME I STEP FOOT IN THE WATER..... ohh and like 65% of the attacks occur during mid-morning to mid-afternoon. (10am-4pm) But in the 90's only 12.5% of the attacks where fatal. Guess who will be part of that 12.5%... Dan and I that is who.

That poor kid got attacked at 8pm Friday by a 7foot long bull shark (the one showed on the left here) in knee-deep water off the Florida Panhandle. The attack resulted in severing his right arm and biting a large chunk of muscle from his right thigh. The boy's uncle, Vance Flosenzier of Mobile, Alabama, stopped the attack and wrestled the shark to shore.

And this guy has something to add that I dont think will improve my chances any. Shark attacks are rare events, said George Burgess, the director of the Shark Attack File at the Florida Museum of Natural History in Gainesville, Florida. "The reality is, you've got a better chance of winning the lottery than being attacked by a shark," he said. Hmm if I start playing the lottery, will I NOT get attacked by a shark? How about Joseph Hornick Jr. who won 4 major lotteries. Will he not get attacked?

Wednesday, July 11, 2001 10:27 AM - What a great game - Shanky

Wow that was a great game. I am so glad I had to work late and miss most of it. I told everyone I would be home by 9:30 at the latest. well I call home around 9:30 saying I would have another 15 to 20mins of work left. I didnt get off until 10pm, so I got home around 10:30. Damn people, everyone had their vaction and I got to do the pickoff, one of the highest seniority jobs there, also one of the most difficult, the hardest on a very busy night. everything was going great until I guess 8:00. Then Quad Graphics wanted to ship us 11 skids of their product, which are boxes about a foot wide, foot and a half high, and a foot deep, and weight anywhere from 25 to 35 pounds. Well I got about 500 of those within a 30min time span. I got crushed big time. I finnally got some help when phone books came. but that wasnt until 15mins after I was jammed up the ass with tons of those things. lots of single phone books and lots of 'groups' of phone books that weight 40lbs a piece. Well by that time, three of my four trailers I sort the boxes to were backed up all the way back to me. so I got to sit there with the belt off and on for another 20mins while everyone tryed to clean their trailers up. last and certianly least, GM got to wait and be the last trailer to be unloaded, their first one wasnt to bad, but I guess this one just felt like it took forever, I didnt get to many boxes, but as I looked a the time, I should have been home by THEN! For Jurassic Park 3 I better get off in time to go see that next Wednesday or Thursday night, whenever we deside to go. We picked the late show for Scary Movie 2 (9:55) and I got out of work a quarter time 9. ohh well I filled in my time nicely, nice big healthy dinner at Burger King, yummy whopper. Then headed to Target to get a Hot Wheels car, Honda Civic Si (so it kinda matches my car, Civic EX), and I got the movie Snatch on DVD. (i will post a movie review later)

Hmm I should get back onto the topic. The All Star game. Anyway, I got home at 10:30, and Shanna wasnt here :( That made me feel really really bad because the whole thing being held at my house and I wasnt even there to say hello or even goodnight to her. She said she wasnt feeling good, Terry, Dan, and Ryan all said that too. But she sounded fine when I called her from work. But last night when I called her (i woke her up too) she didnt sound to good. I am so sorry Shanna... Anyway. The Game. Well I missed most of it. I had it on the radio coming home from work. Was 2-0 at that time. When I got home it was 4-1. Any they keep showing these images, left. Yes I know it was very funny. But still.. Poor Lasorda. I didnt think he could roll over backwards like that either. Rich Aurilia had this to say about Tommy's roll, "It was one of the game's biggest moments. People will always remember it. It might overshadow Cal's home run." Well who needs Cal anyway, they probally gave him that homerun like they did in his 2131 game. BTW, my predicted MVP, Jeff Kent, 1-2 with a double and a run scored, but also had an error. And my All Star game predictions also went down the drain. Ohh well there is always next year.

Tuesday, July 10, 2001 01:43 PM - All Star Game tonight - Shanky

Tonight is the All Star game for Major League Baseball (who now have www.mlb.com to use in place of www.majorleaguebaseball.com, it only took them what? four years to get the rights to it) Anyway. Having a small get together at my house to watch it. Dan, Terry, Shanna, Ryan, and I should be the ones watching it. But I couldnt get off work tonight (from UPS) because it looks like everyone had this week circled in the calandars for vaction time. Plus two others already signed off for tonight, think to watch the game, they are baseball fans. So that makes us down six people tonight, not counting whoever wants to call in and say they are sick. No I am not doing that. I dont do that. Ok. so I did it once. that was because I wanted to finish putting in the sub in my car. :)

My prediction: National League 9-6 over the American League. Yea I know the American League has won the last five. Time for that to change. And I really do not think it will be a pitchers game at all this year.
MVP: Chipper. No, really I think Kent will put it out with like 4RBI's and a double or two. But no, now he will end up 0-2 while getting subbed out. Second choice would be I-Rod, but I dont think the AL will win.

Home Run Debry: I saw the end of it. Sosa really disappointed me in the final against Luis Gonzalez. Oh well I was telling my dad that my vote was for Luis to win, but I really did not think that he would, not by a long shot. I still think someone like Giambi should have won. Hitting 14 in round one was amazing. He should have won for doing that. Ohh well. Dan and I had our personal homerun debry(which I won 2-1) but our totals were the same for all three rounds(eight total homers for each of us).

People who shouldnt be starters:

Rich Aurilia, but who do you replace him with?
Cal Ripken, but this is his last season, guess he can have it. Will just make Chipper look that much better as 3rd basemen for the NL. But expect to see Glaus replace Ripken after a few innings.
Roger Clemens, there are better starting pitchers than him, except they are all hurt.
John Olerud, I think Giambi should start.
Brett Boone, but Alomar has sucked this year

The game starts at 8:05pm eastern. So it might get started by around 8:25. I hope to be home by 9:30, if not before. hopefully much before that. but I dont think so with so many people gone tonight. argh. anyway I will call home when I get off work, or know how much longer I will be stuck there.
